Tasks

You will be the primary custodian of the CMMS system, responsible for the development, planning, setup, administration and coordination of the CMMS program, asset register, and maintenance schedules for all tooling, equipment, and facilities. As a Maintenance Planner, your duties and responsibilities are to maintain a stock of spare parts and complete requisitions. You’ll make routine inspections of inventory and ensure that the department maintains minimum inventory levels. National Pipe & Plastics is currently seeking a Maintenance Planner to join our team, supporting all plant locations, and based at our Colfax, NC. In this job, you will be responsible for making sure maintenance technicians have the tools and parts they need to complete work orders, as well as schedule maintenance in a way that minimizes equipment downtime and impact on production. Additionally, you’ll have responsibility for overseeing maintenance activities, stocking inventory, and providing administrative support to maintenance supervisors and technicians. You’ll also manage third-party contractors to accomplish maintenance tasks. -Track and report out on maintenance downtime including PM work and emergency work orders. -Provide Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) work orders, in accordance with pre-program of work. Plans, develops, prioritizes, and implements detailed maintenance schedules. -Evaluates existing program performance and recommends improvements for system performance and enhanced security; administers changes and adjustments to systems as directed. -Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work. -Participates in software evaluation and selection in the areas of CMMS updates. -Generate customized, standard and ad-hoc reports, ensuring they are issued within required time frames. -Interacts with vendors on contract work related to maintenance projects for equipment and facilities. -Investigate and evaluate maintenance work requests, determine priority, and create detailed work orders with instructions for technicians. -Manage spare parts and alignment between the maintenance department and stock room. -Develops maintenance job plans for new and ongoing operations and accurately inputs the data into the CMMS Work Order System. -Distribute Preventative Maintenance Schedule, generate and distribute the schedule(s), amend and track changes as may be required. -Conduct Training and Information Sessions - Provide training and or information on the CMMS program for maintenance team members. -Maintains and compiles documentation of user procedures, technical references, training manuals, handbooks, and guides; maintains tables, data structures, diagrams, and testing data. -Provides periodic status reports on completed and scheduled maintenance activities. -Maintains and operates CMMS as directed to create and maintain equipment history database; manages inventory tracking module, purchasing module, and any related data. -Ensure that asset data is correctly entered, stored and maintained. -Develops and implements automated processes, specialized views, and reports in response to user needs. -Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities by task and priority level. -Captures and organizes asset data for inclusion in the CMMS asset database. -Custodian of the CMMS - FIXX formal system for planning, completing, and reporting facility maintenance activities. -Works with the Engineering Department on multiple Capital Improvement Projects to give input on how CMMS affects their projects and how their project could affect the CMMS. -Process Maintenance routine and corrective work orders, track to ensure timely completion, close out work orders and bring forward outstanding items or anomalies as required. -Work hand in hand with purchasing on locating parts, writing requisitions, and talking to outside vendors. -Acts as point of contact for the day-to-day operations of the CMMS database technology needs; troubleshoots system problems. -Coordinates with Information Technology staff to troubleshoot and resolve system problems, make system modifications, and install new and additional software as required. -Create accurate input for assets into the CMMS for data records and reports (manual & computerized) in accordance with Company procedures. -Provides emergency response to reduce downtime, corrects errors, monitors parts availability, facilitates off hours scheduled maintenance, and repairs system failures on an as needed basis.

What You Bring

-Possess strong customer service skills, detail and process oriented. -At least Five (5) years in maintenance, manufacturing, engineering and/or construction environment. -Possess solid communication skills, both written and oral (bilingualism is an asset) -Able to present information and training in a team setting. -At least Five (5) years’ experience in principles and practices in maintenance. -Strong computer skills. Demonstrated working experience with Microsoft Office applications. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, with emphasis in reporting. -Knowledge of IT systems including database and document management systems as required to effectively manage a CMMS. -Able to work in a large team environment and build cooperative, collaborative relationships with field teams. -English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and punctuation. -Strong organizational skills. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize, with demonstrated experience working with deadlines. -Computer systems and applications related to the work, including word processing, database and spreadsheet applications. -Post secondary education or a combination of related work experience required. -At least Two (2) years of experience with CMMS program (preferably FIXX).
