Tasks
-Implement and manage network access controls (ACLs), segmentation rules, and traffic inspection mechanisms. -Ensure network infrastructure aligns with compliance standards such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, CMMC, and ISO 27001. -Engineer and maintain secure, highly available LAN/WAN topologies with IPv4 and IPv6 support. -Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalation support for network-related issues affecting internal systems and customer environments. -Design and enforce network segmentation and access policies in accordance with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles. -Configure and deploy core network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, and wireless systems. -Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on vulnerability remediation, audit support, and integration of SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel. -Architect, design, and implement customized network solutions based on customer requirements, spanning Azure, hybrid, and on-premises environments. -Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date network documentation, including topology diagrams, IP schemas, port mappings, and device inventories. -Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents, implementing both corrective and preventive actions. -Participate in planning and technical design reviews for customer onboarding, secure facility deployments, and internal infrastructure projects.

FirstFour Group, the Gulf Coast’s preferred partner for specialized information technology recruitment, is seeking a mission-driven Network Engineer on behalf of our client, a rapidly scaling IT Services organization. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure and scalable network infrastructure that supports both internal operations and external client environments. This role is ideal for a passionate technologist with a solid foundation in enterprise networking and is looking to advance their expertise in Zero Trust, compliance-driven architecture, and operational resilience. -protocols (OSPF/BGP). -One or more of the following certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE 4+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate -Hands-on experience with monitoring, log analysis, and packet captures (e.g., Wireshark). -Experience managing enterprise firewalls -Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and secure enclaves. -Familiarity with cloud networking in Microsoft Azure (NSGs, VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway). -Experience supporting customer environments, installations, or hybrid IT deployments. -Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field — or equivalent experience. -Exposure to infrastructure as code (IaC) or SDN concepts (e.g., Terraform, Azure ARM templates). -Greater than 3 years in network engineering roles. -Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, NAT, VPN (IPSec/OpenVPN), DNS, DHCP, and routing -Familiarity with NIST 800-53, CMMC, or ISO 27001 network-related control implementations.
