The Role
Overview
Lead bridge design engineer overseeing design, QA/QC, and project coordination.

Tasks
-Reviews submittals and coordinates project submissions. -Performs work within assigned budgets. -Prepares and reviews design computations, plan designs, and drawings. -Promotes, utilizes, and supports quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors and omissions. -Prepares and reviews specifications, draft letters, and written technical reports. -Completes inspections and field work assignments as needed. -Researches, reviews, interprets, and understands written regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements and applies them to design projects. -Maintains appropriate documentation of work and project records. -Develops technically accurate, clean, and deliverable drawings.

What You Bring
-Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) -Must have a strong desire to expand knowledge base and undertake new responsibilities. -Possesses knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to project designs. -Understanding of and ability to prepare bridge design, bridge construction plans, and specifications. Including special provisions, and other related project documents. -Minimum of (5) years job-related experience. Transportation-related bridge design experience preferred. -Possess strong oral & written communication skills, and have strong organizational & time management skills -Must be able to work both independently and as part of a project team. -Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from ABET-accredited school, or related field of study. -Must have thorough knowledge of the design and development process of transportation bridge projects and knowledge of AASHTO and WV DOH Design Manuals, Standards, Specifications, Engineering Software, and Microstation. -Proficiency with Microstation, Open Roads, InRoads (Surfaces and Templates), and other related software programs preferred. -Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) required.
