Tasks

-Drive the design aspects of a transmission line project and identify technical challenges -Interface with internal and external teams to resolve technical challenges -Structural analysis and design of transmission lines and substation structures up to 345kV -Keep up with software and technology trends relating to transmission line design and look for ways to continuously improve the workflow -Occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk, and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls -Provide mentorship and training to less experienced engineers in PLS-CADD and transmission line design -Generate transmission line deliverables including route alignment drawings, sag charts, stringing charts, loading diagrams, foundation drawings

What You Bring

-Proficiency with PLS-CADD and affiliated modules including TOWER, PLS-POLE, SAGSEC, CAISSON, and SAPS -Experience includes new line, rehabilitation, and relocation for projects that traverse varying elevations and urban alleys -Experience includes projects that vary in length from several poles to 20+ miles -Registered Professional Engineer -B.S. in Structural/Civil Engineering -Frequently use close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus -Foundation design and steel detailing -Experience includes a variety of structures including monopoles, lattice structures, and guyed towers -Understand client specifications and design requirements and communicate those to others -Experience with distribution design is a plus
