The Role

Overview

Create CAD drawings for bridges, highways, and related infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Perform drawing QA/QC on work products from other CADD design and engineering staff. -May develop 3D CAD models for substructures, grading and alignments/profiles. -Assist the engineering and project management team with the development of CAD design methodology and practices. -Prepare reinforcing bar detailing for reinforced concrete structures. -Produce CAD drawings for public infrastructure projects including highways, intersections, bridges, culverts and ancillary features. -Apply and integrate various client CAD standards into CAD templates. -Prepare quantity take-offs from CAD and surface model files. -Oversee and supervise junior CAD staff.

What You Bring

-Associate degree in engineering technology or the equivalent years of experience is required. -8+ years of CAD design experience for public infrastructure projects and owners is required; NYSDOT and/or NYSTA experience is a plus. -Proficient in one or more of the following CAD platforms: MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD or Civil 3D is required. -Interested in working in a team setting with strong collaboration skills. -Ability to work with team members in other offices. -Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. -Experience with 3D CAD, Point Clouds, and Digital Delivery methods is a plus.
