Lead Estimator

Overview

Lead estimator for mechanical fire protection systems, managing proposals and a team.

Key Responsibilities

• quotation tracking
• tender review
• cost estimation
• cad design
• supplier costing
• client liaison

Tasks

-Monitor and progress submitted quotations to obtain client feedback, negotiate & prepare win/loss KPIs and lessons learnt. -Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients. -Internal handover meetings upon project award. -Review tender documents including project specific consultant specifications & drawings. -Where required, survey and obtain key information to inform estimates. -Develop a detailed proposal document complete with associated deliverables where applicable. -Contacting suppliers to obtain project specific costs. -Utilise in house calculation software to develop a fixed estimate. -Utilise computer aided design software to develop blueprints and preliminary design to inform the estimate. -Liaising with clients & attending meetings to discuss projects.

What You Bring

-Can demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and efficiency. -Willingness to travel throughout the UK & overseas. -Full UK driving license with less than 6 points -Experience in team leadership. -People manage one of two groups of Estimators. -Friendly and outgoing personality with the natural ability to engage with customers/clients representing Argus Fire professionally and positively. -DBS check required -Strong organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities. -Experience within the special hazard market would be beneficial, but not essential. -Proven IT skills with experience of MS office packages. -Technical understanding of international fire protection related standards including LPC / BSEN12845, BS9251, BS5306, BS9990, FM & NFPA Systems. -Regular Dialogue with other departments across the business including, but not limited to, projects, commercial and design. -Strong commercial awareness with demonstrable numerical skills.
