Grid (EMS/OTS) Engineering and Support function

Overview

Install, configure, support GE eTerra EMS on Linux, plus automation via Ansible.

Tasks

-Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible to streamline system installations, patching, and maintenance tasks. -Support infrastructure patching and apply 3rd-party patches, including tools like Oracle Client. -Install and configure GE eTerra EMS systems on Linux platforms. -Manage access controls and permissions to maintain system security. -Address and resolve any issues during or after installation with quick fixes. -Validate system configurations and ensure appropriate data sources are accessible. -Test and validate access to eTerra Habitat to ensure proper functionality. -Provide support to troubleshoot and resolve system issues. -Conduct regression testing after patching to ensure system stability and performance.

What You Bring

-Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues. -Understanding of power systems and EMS workflows is a plus. -Familiarity with data source configuration and validation. -Strong expertise in Linux systems administration. -Hands-on system engineering experience with GE eTerra EMS, including installation, configuration, and validation on Linux systems. -Proven experience in testing and resolving access and configuration issues in EMS systems. -Demonstrated experience with production support and handling system-level issues in production environments. -Experience in managing infrastructure and third-party patching, including tools like Oracle, tomcat etc. -Automation & Scripting -Proficiency in Ansible scripting for automation of installations, patching, and maintenance. -Familiarity with other automation tools or scripting languages like Python or Shell scripting. -Knowledge of network security and best practices for access management. -Experience with system monitoring and performance tuning for EMS platforms.
