Tasks

-Lead commercial due diligence and provide input into investment decisions and bid strategies. -Collaborate with internal teams (development, finance, legal, technical) to structure bankable and commercially viable offtake solutions. -Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance brand presence and thought leadership. -Conduct market analysis to identify trends, pricing dynamics, and new opportunities in renewable energy and storage contracting. -Lead the origination and negotiation of long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Virtual PPAs, and other offtake structures for renewable and energy storage assets. -Support project financing by ensuring offtake contracts align with lender and investor requirements. -Develop and maintain relationships with corporate and utility offtakers, advisors, and intermediaries to identify and convert new commercial opportunities.

What You Bring

The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of power markets, a strong understanding of renewable and storage project economics, and a proven track record in originating and closing complex offtake transactions across the Australian (or relevant regional) energy market. I'm currently supporting my client to hire an experienced Senior PPA Originator to lead the origination, structuring, and negotiation of renewable energy and storage offtake agreements. This is a key commercial role that will drive revenue growth and asset bankability through strategic partnerships with corporate, industrial, and utility offtakers. -Proven track record securing offtake agreements for renewable (solar, wind) and/or storage projects. -Strong relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and communication abilities. -Strong understanding of electricity market mechanisms, pricing, and regulatory frameworks. -Exceptional commercial acumen, financial literacy, and contract negotiation skills. -Demonstrated ability to manage the full transaction lifecycle - from opportunity identification through to contract execution. -Minimum 7+ years’ experience in energy markets with a focus on PPA origination, structuring, and negotiation.
