Crane and Rigging Superintendent

Overview

Supervises crane and rigging operations, ensuring safety and compliance on LNG project.

Tasks

-Assist in performing construction testing as required. -Monitor and track utilization of all site cranes Certified rigger/signal person. -Manage site COE's (crane operator examiners) and crane operator qualification program including crane operator certifications, state licenses and medical certificates verifications. -Provide ES&H leadership to personnel assigned to their department. -Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs. -Manage all site cranes per processes and procedure requirements in regards to safe usage, site relocation, assembly/disassembly of telescopic RT-AT and lattice boom crawler cranes, safe rig up and safe raising-lowering of long boom cranes, proper set up, proper usage and site ground bearing conditions regarding build out of earth and timber crane pads. -Review and approve subcontractor equipment/personnel mobilization and demobilization. -Prepare material requisitions for tools and consumables and coordinate through Procurement to obtain these materials. -Champion the cause of ZERO Accident Philosophy. Ensure that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility. -Engages in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and signing FLHA cards for rigging activities. -Coordinate with the General Foreman to hire craft labor to execute work. -Ensures that assigned personnel are properly qualified for their task (e.g., signaling cranes); that they are trained, competent and aware of their responsibilities, and are complying with all applicable standards, requirements, and safe practices. -Ensure that all crane and rigging operations comply with applicable Bechtel procedures, OSHA standards, and federal, state, county, and local regulations, customer and project-specific requirements. -Coordinate safety training and enforce safe work practices at all times in conjunction with the Environmental Safety and Health Supervisor. -This includes preparation and implementation of safety procedures and leading Bechtel and subcontractor safety meetings. -Inspect site for unsafe conditions and practices and take appropriate corrective action to correct breaches.

What You Bring

-Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction is preferred. -Experienced in safe use and inspection of rigging hardware. -Ability to develop 3 week look ahead schedule in regards to crane operations. -Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience -Experience on an LNG construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast. -Certified Crane Operator, experienced as A/D director for all types of mobile cranes. -Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications. -Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards. Excellent communication and problem-solving ability. -NCCCO, NCCCER or equivalent Certified crane operator, NCCCO, NCCER or equivalent Certified OSHA crane inspector Bechtel Certified Rigging Engineer (CRE) certification. -Ability to read and interpret crane manufactures operators manual and load charts. -Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken.
