Tasks

-Assist in the preparation of engineering designs including: -Drafting of ongoing and new projects using CAD software -Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members -Assist project managers with multi-disciplinary projects -Complete design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completion -Assist with site investigations and condition assessments -Assist with contract administration tasks including construction layout, construction observation, contractor submittal review, progress payment preparation and responding to requests for information -Contribute to business development activities including client need research, preparation of project proposals and presentations -Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees -Complete review of safe work practices and performing risk assessments for employee tasks

What You Bring

-Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills -A variety of EFAP tools and online resources to support well-being are available to all employees. -A degree in engineering from University of Waterloo -One to two years’ co-op or work experience with exposure to consulting is considered an asset -Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards, regulatory requirements, industry standards, specifications and good engineering practices will be considered an asset -Proficient in the use of current AutoCAD software; working knowledge of Civil 3D, Microstation, OpenRoads Designer or InRoads software will be considered an asset -Engineering studies -Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request -Understand project design and implementation activities, including: development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering and contract administration will be considered an asset -The ability to anticipate, examine, and adopt new and innovative solutions is a crucial driver for the continual and progressive advancement of our business performance.
