Tasks

-Reads building plans and identifies applicable portions with Cook & Boardman involvement -Works directly with Contractor including the hard bid processes -Compares actual and estimated materials on completion of each project -Responsible for complete door and hardware takeoffs and costing all parts and scope of work -Performs labor cost interpretation based on scope of work -Receives constructing plans, drawings and specifications and reviews for familiarization; checks for completeness; notes bid deadlines and any special requirements -Enters applicable information into Comsense system and prices job based on computer cost files -Summarizes door opening and other applicable portions of plans by type -Reviews scope of work with General Contractor pre/post bid and hardware/HMF manufacturer combo packages determine most competitive position -Interprets construction specifications; where necessary, discusses interpretations with team salesperson, customers or the architect -Organizes approach to project by deciding how to separate portions of major projects and to identify typical opening or hardware sets, etc.; notes project construction schedules, if applicable

What You Bring

-Detail oriented, deadline conscience, goal driven, and able to handle all types of scopes of projects -Knowledge of door, frame and hardware applications as they relate to UL, fire code, building code, ADA, life safety and other restrictions that relate to the general commercial construction industry -Proficient in Microsoft Office -Blueprint/plan reading and specification interpretation -Excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills -Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen -Accurate mathematical skills -3-5 years of related experience in similar construction or building material industry
