The Role

Overview

Set up and operate rotor balancing facilities for large generators and turbines.

Tasks

-Follow Siemens Energy established procedures to operate the balance facilities; performing required tests, reading results, and recording data according to specifications. -Calculate balance weight moves using computers and/or manual drawing vectors. -Use material handling devices (jib cranes, overhead beam cranes, and forklifts), to load/unload parts and/or assists crane operator. -Interpret detailed drawings/sketches, blueprints, manufacturing specifications, etc. -Setup rotors for balance testing by installing tooling, bearings, bearing pedestals, adapter plates, oil seals, and vibration probes and then connecting to controls system, fuel system, lube systems, etc. per job documentation, process or engineering specifications.

-Successful applicants must be able to obtain Silver Level or higher ACT® WorkKeys® National Career Readiness Certificate -Ability to read and interpret complicated drawings, specifications, charts, and tables and to use precision measuring instruments -Successful applicants must be able to pass hearing, vision, and pulmonary tests through Siemens Energy’s onsite medical team -An associate’s degree, or a high school degree with 3+ years of experience in manufacturing/industrial/assembly operations with strong mathematical knowledge -Ability to obtain fork truck and crane license through Siemens Energy internal certification programs -Ability to pass Siemens Energy balancer / math competency exam
