Tss Group.

The Role

Overview

Lead mechanical design for a gold processing plant study.

Key Responsibilities

  • mechanical design
  • equipment specs
  • cross coordination
  • design integrity
  • estimating input
  • flowsheet integration

Tasks

This is an opportunity to lead the mechanical scope of the process plant for a landmark gold project study. You will be instrumental in developing defensible study deliverables while preparing the groundwork for execution, working alongside Stantec on one of the most significant gold developments in the region. -Providing study-level layouts, equipment lists, datasheets, and preliminary specifications -Guiding and mentoring mechanical designers and junior engineers -Overseeing interface with civil, structural, electrical, and piping teams to ensure alignment of mechanical packages -Ensuring mechanical design accounts for constructability, operability, and maintainability in a remote environment -Supporting the project controls team with accurate inputs into Class 3 estimating and scheduling -Leading design of mechanical systems for the process plant, including tanks, pumps, piping networks, and support utilities -Coordinating with process engineers to translate flowsheets into mechanical deliverables

Requirements

  • epc/epcm
  • gold extraction
  • copper extraction
  • pumps
  • flotation
  • leadership

What You Bring

-Familiarity with EPC/EPCM study environments and Class 3 estimating requirements -Knowledge of gold and copper extraction methods and how these translate into mechanical plant design requirements -Non-ferrous mineral processing experience desirable -Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines to deliver integrated outcomes -Proven leadership experience on major mining or mineral processing projects -Strong background in tanks, pumps, piping systems, and materials handling within process plants -Experience with large milling and grinding (comminution) circuits, flotation, heap leach, solvent extraction (SX), and electrowinning (EW), preferably with gold/copper projects -Experience preparing study-phase mechanical deliverables (PFS/DFS) and transitioning into execution -Monday to Friday, based in Perth or Brisbane

Benefits

-Hours: 40 per week plus approved overtime -Competitive rates – to be finalised in consultation with project and market benchmarks -Hybrid work options – up to 1 day WFH per week for lead roles
