Tasks

-Assists in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities under the guidance of higher-level employees. -Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches associated with the resolution of routine technical problems. -Provide training assistance to System Operators as needed. -Coordinate with cross-functional teams to facilitate capital project execution and maintenance scheduling while ensuring compliance with transmission system operating constraints and reliability requirements. -Perform high-quality outage studies with the intent to become an SME of the Indiana Transmission grid. -Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of routine problems in area of expertise. -Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally. -Act as an SME and Owner of various Operating plans and Procedures including participating in NERC MRRE audits and internal spot checks. -Design and implement custom analytical tools and applications to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making capabilities within the Energy Control Center (ECC). -Participate in project development meetings providing operational input. -Support various MISO operating committees and working groups providing input and feedback regarding Duke Energy positions.

What You Bring

-Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles. -Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files. -Experience in the utility industry. -Electrical Engineering degree preferred -Understanding of basic principles of project management. -Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations. -Conducts basic engineering studies requiring little evaluation or ingenuity. -Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam. -Possesses knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures. -Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. -Good written and oral communication skills. -Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. A master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree.

Benefits

-Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
