The Role

Overview

Maintain and troubleshoot water utility instrumentation, control and automation systems.

Tasks

-Support project engineers with ICA-related planning and execution -Perform routine maintenance and calibration of ICA systems (e.g., flow meters, pressure sensors, level transmitters, PLCs, SCADA) -Represent the OT team in cross-departmental meetings -Deliver training to operational and departmental colleagues -Diagnose and repair faults in instrumentation and control equipment -Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams -Assist in commissioning and integrating new systems and upgrades -Support ICA innovation and capital delivery processes -Maintain accurate documentation (maintenance logs, calibration certificates, fault reports) -Operate in line with Operational Technology standards and company integrity policies -Provide flexible out-of-hours standby support on an ad hoc basis -Travel occasionally to South Staffordshire region -Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

What You Bring

-Strong understanding of electrical, instrumentation, and control principles -HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline -Qualification in a water industry-related discipline - Desirable -Skilled in fault finding and maintaining field instruments and control panels -Full valid UK driving licence -Experience with water industry processes - Desirable -Understanding of water quality regulations - Desirable -PC literate with strong communication skills -Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, including Permit to Work and Risk Assessments -Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and PLC logic -Knowledge of risk assessments -Familiarity with SCADA/PLC systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi) -Proven experience in ICA systems within the water or utilities sector
