Maintenance Technician - Northridge Apartments

Full-time maintenance technician handling repairs and upkeep of senior apartment community.

Tasks

-Managing and treating for snow and ice in public areas during the winter -Responsible for stocking, ordering and organizing an inventory of parts, supplies and materials -Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner. -Respond to maintenance work orders, follow up with residents and office staff, direct and oversee the work of independent contractors and vendors, and work in an on-call rotation -Work along with the grounds contractors in maintaining grounds and common areas -Assist Property Manager with updating make-ready board and ensuring that unit turns are competed in a timely manner. -Opening/closing and daily maintenance of the pool during summer months -Keeping the grounds free of trash and debris when time permits -Ensure the completion of all market-ready apartments, emergency and non-emergency service requests, various maintenance activities, and community inspections

What You Bring

-High school diploma or equivalent required. -Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. -Ability to read and write English -Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. -This position is full-time nonexempt (eligible for *overtime). -Prolonged periods of standing and walking. -Excellent time management and supervisory skills -Knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. -Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems. -Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed. -Adequate experience in apartment maintenance -Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
