The Role

Overview

Manage toolroom and maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and tool availability.

Tasks

-Develop and manage departmental budgets, including labor, materials, and capital investments. -Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues. -Plan and manage capital expenditures related to equipment upgrades and facility improvements. -Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues to minimize downtime. -Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all facility equipment. -Lead and coordinate all toolroom activities including tool design, manufacturing, maintenance, and inventory control. -Oversee CAD/CNC programming and ensure high-quality workmanship in tool fabrication. -Supervise toolmakers and technicians, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. -Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and environmental compliance. -Manage a team of maintenance technicians across multiple trades (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.). -Implement and maintain a computerized tool tracking and maintenance system. -Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. -Lead training and development programs for toolroom and maintenance staff. -Provide technical support and quotations for new tooling, modifications, and repairs. -Ensure timely availability of tools and fixtures to support production schedules. -Monitor equipment performance and reliability, using CMMS systems to track metrics and service history. -Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and maintenance operations.

What You Bring

-7–10 years of experience in toolroom and maintenance management within a manufacturing environment. -Bachelor’s degree in industrial technology, or related field. -Strong leadership and team-building skills. -Constant communication with employees, peers, management, and customers involving time management, multi-tasking, scheduling, decision making, forecasting and problem solving -Proficiency in CMMS, CAD/CAM software, and inventory management systems. -Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. -Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is a plus. -Constant standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing
