The Role

Overview

Assist in designing and documenting instrumentation for industrial plant projects.

Tasks

-Support project activities including cost estimation, documentation, and scheduling. -Assist in preparing instrumentation loop diagrams, as-builts, IJBs, and IPLs. -Ensure compliance with project and site specifications, contract requirements, policies, and codes. -Support detailed instrumentation design, including basic interfacing to PLCs and DCS systems. -Assist in maintaining and updating project instrumentation wiring and instrument data sheets. -Support the design of instrumentation loops with guidance from senior engineers or technologists. -Participate in field reviews and assist planners by providing design-related input and observations. -Contribute to development of Construction Work Packages under supervision. -Assist with project updates, vendor communications, and reporting on instrumentation work. -Help develop documentation and details for projects from development through to project closeout.

What You Bring

-Basic technical knowledge of instrumentation devices, components, and applications. -Familiarity with Management of Change (MOC) is an asset. -Instrumentation Engineering Technologist Diploma or relevant Engineering Degree. -Registration with ASET (CET or P.Tech.) is an asset. -Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office). -Exposure to INtools or similar design software is an asset. -Experience with SAP or other project management systems is a plus. -Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a willingness to learn and grow under supervision. -2+ years of experience in industrial instrumentation design, including some exposure to field design or project work.
