The Role

Overview

Assist in installing & maintaining commercial/residential plumbing systems as a pre‑apprentice.

Tasks

-Inspects and tests systems to determine condition and needed repairs. -Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders. -Assists with other work in coordination with repair and maintenance teams. -Addresses customer concerns with their current plumbing systems. -Complies with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area. -Tests systems for leaks. -Works alongside Journeyperson Plumbers to promote a learning environment. At times, the Apprentice may work individually. -Performs routine maintenance/repairs on boilers, water lines, sanitary and grease lines, and building storm systems. -Recommend, develop, or perform preventative or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricating parts, or replacement of parts. -Assists in Installing and maintaining commercial plumbing systems. -Participates in monthly safety program duties and training.

What You Bring

-Must have a valid driver’s license -High School Diploma or equivalent and enrollment in an apprenticeship program. -Must be willing to undergo a background check and motor vehicle report. -Ability to use hand and power tools. -Drug Testing may be required. -Effective communication with internal team and customers. -Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques, and local plumbing codes and standards. -Diagnose and resolve problems, follow written and verbal instructions, read written reference materials, and perform math. -Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
