The Role

Overview

Field mechanic maintaining and repairing fleet vehicles/equipment at NY job sites.

Tasks

-Repair of construction type fleet equipment and vehicles (including all phases of aerial device repairs). -Routine maintenance and service of fleet vehicles at assigned intervals. -Documentation of PM reports & equipment repair logs. -Field welding and fabrication on dirt and rock engagement equipment.

What You Bring

-Must be able to work with minimum supervision. -Class" A" CDL required. Fifth wheel endorsement a plus. -Ability to walk – sometimes long distances over uneven and wet surfaces. -The ability to work over time when required, sometimes with short/same day notice. -Ford, Peterbilt, John Deere, Altec, Terex, Versalift, International, Cat and Vermeer experience. -Need electrical troubleshooting experience. -Ability to utilize laptop, smart devices and software as a tool of the trade. -Requires experience repairing diesel engines and hydraulic systems. -Mechanic rig is provided and is available to drive to and from sites daily. -Requires experience repairing air brakes; certification is preferred but not required. -Experienced in welding and small fabrication. -Be able to install and maintain telematics equipment such as Zonar. -Ability to lift 50LBs. -Must have at least 3 years experience working as a mechanic or service technician.
