Tasks

-Support other Estimators with bidding activities and training -Perform accurate material takeoffs to supply to vendor for pricing -Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors -Track and compare project histories to produce up to date man hours and cost -Utilize previous work/bidding history to establish production assumptions -Solicit material vendor pricing and subcontractor proposals including assembly and distribution of project documentation into RFQ/RFP packages -Complete cost estimates for assigned projects, with definable work tasks for transmission, distribution and substation projects -Lead the estimating team and manage bidding activities -Prepare commercial aspects of proposals, including work plans, clarifications/exceptions, etc. -Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards -Develop complex estimates with minor errors/omissions -Lead estimate review process with internal and external stake holders -Attend on-site pre-bid meetings and perform job site visits -Schedule and attend field job walk with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel to determine constructability requirements -Plan and execute work while meeting customer defined submission deadlines

What You Bring

-Knowledgeable of electrical materials and methods of installation -Minimum 2 years of estimating experience for a Estimator I -High school diploma or GED -Excellent analytical and organizational skills -Strong communication skills, including verbal, and written -Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player -Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities as necessary -Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude -Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others -Minimum 1 year of estimating transmission, distribution, and/or substation -Minimum 5 years of estimating experience for a Estimator II -Proficient in Microsoft applications -Proficient in understanding construction and electrical drawings to accurately formulate an estimate -Regular and predictable attendance -Minimum 8 years of estimating experience for a Sr. Estimator -Self-driven with the ability to stay on-task for extended periods of time while working independently -Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
