Mechanical Project Engineer

Tasks

-Mentoring of staff both within your discipline and across disciplines in the Mechanical Engineering discipline, with the goal of increasing knowledge sharing and collaborating towards a comprehensive, coordinated set of project documents -Travel as project requirements dictate for surveys and field/site visits during construction -Produce basis of design reports, systems matrices, and preliminary design reports on projects the position is leading -Produce specification sections and Statement of Special Inspections, and interface with specifications staff on projects -Interface and lead coordination with all disciplines during the design/ coordination phases -Active role in drawing production, including but not limited to picking up redlines, quality assessment of individual work, coordination with other disciplines and coordination reviews and participation in team coordination meetings from SD through CA phases -Produce basis of design reports, systems matrices, and preliminary design reports -Write work plans and review weekly with all disciplines to confirm schedule is adhered to -Develop knowledge of Ballinger’s project types (health care, academic/lab/research, corporate/workspace) through active engagement with project teams and leadership -Interface with the client in design presentations related to their discipline of registration -Produce field site visit reports Draft/model documents -Direct and perform HVAC/Mechanical engineering on projects: maintain work plan and monitor progress of design, detailing, and drawing production throughout design phases to meet deadlines

What You Bring

-Advanced client relation skills -PE Registration -Foundational knowledge of contractual and liability issues -BS, BEng, or BAE degree in Mechanical Engineering relevant to the particular field of practice or equivalent as determined by the Firm. -Excel, Word, and analysis software proficiency -CAD & Revit proficiency -5+ years experience -Post Graduate degree preferred. -Strong interpersonal skills, specifically communication, dependability, responsibility, and teamwork -Coordination skills, specifically communication, organization, time management, and adaptability -High level of responsiveness and collaboration with contractors and clients -Advanced professional judgment Proficient interpersonal skills and coordination efforts -Foundational knowledge of construction administration process and procedural knowledge -Foundational work planning, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills -Thorough understanding of discipline’s drawing and graphic standards, adherence to standards for quality and consistency in Ballinger’s product
