The Role

Overview

Design and lead bridge projects, mentor staff, and manage deliverables for transportation structures.

Tasks

-Manage the process of compiling and coordinating plans, specifications, cost estimates and pay items per DOT standards -Prepare and review structural and geometrical calculations for bridge design projects -Assume responsibility for assigned design calculation files and plans assuring adequate independent QC reviews on that work -Mentor junior staff and assist with the growth and development of the structural staff -Serve as lead engineer on a variety of bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects -Lead structural designers on bridge design and rehabilitation projects -Coordinate the above tasks with the Project Manager

What You Bring

-Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules -Ability to work effectively in a team environment -Experience working with CDOT and/or municipalities -PE License in Colorado or ability to obtain through reciprocity -Proven experience performing complex analysis and design -Excellent communication and client relation skills -BS in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering or related discipline, MS is a plus -5 to 10+ years of bridge design experience -Ability to assemble a complete design package and construction documents for assigned elements or projects -Proven experience with various structural design and analysis software; Leap Bridge, LUSUS, Midas, and OpenBridge a plus
