Safety Manager

Overview

Oversee and enforce safety programs, training, inspections, and compliance on construction projects.

Tasks

-Investigate and analyze bodily injury and property damage accidents -Provide emergency response plans for projects -Compile and issue regular accident report summaries -Provide updated information to employees regarding safety requirements update or changes -Identify and handle project management personnel needing assistance, training, or discipline in meeting Corporate Safety guidelines and goals -Organize pre-job safety planning meetings to plan for potential hazards and problems prior to start of job -Coordinate project safety programs with subcontractors -Inspect jobsites to ensure Company Safety Program and OSHA compliance -Arrange for basic first aid training for jobsite personnel -Provide training and education programs to Company personnel -Assist with weekly foremen’s and monthly superintendents safety meetings

What You Bring

-BS in safety or equivalent -5 years experience in safety or safety related field -Thorough knowledge of OSHA Construction Regulations -Presentation skills -Ability to recognize and analyze Company trends with respect to Company accidents -Able to perform all duties of Safety Representative -Ability to recognize training needs and develop training in safety -Experience working for a General Contractor or similar experience -Safety certification as CSP, ASP, CSP, OSHT, or CIH desired -Ability to evaluate construction work activities with respect to safety and loss control -Computer skills, i.e. Word, PowerPoint
