Maintenance Operative

Overview

Perform daily road maintenance tasks and emergency response for motorway projects.

Tasks

-Work irregular hours outside of normal work hours -Perform night work as required -Provide 24/7 on-call cover on a rostered basis

What You Bring

-Knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, materials, tools, and practices used in performing the road maintenance activities -Good interpersonal skills -Work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions -Self-motivated and enthusiastic -H&S Related training - First Aid, Fire Warden, Manual Handling. Safety Rep. -Experience of motorway/road construction/maintenance -Other complementary work-related training courses/qualifications -Evidence of practical experience in one or more of the routine maintenance activities listed above -Safety barrier installers course -Accident Damage Repair (e.g. safety barrier & boundary fence repairs) -Class CE Driver’s licence -Adaptable and flexible with a willingness to learn new job specific skills -Driver CPC -An understanding of and commitment to health and safety practices and principles -Relevant experience with a background in Motorway / Road Construction / Maintenance. -Good standard of written and spoken English -Class C Driver’s licence -Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team -Gritter driving -Experience in a similar role -Valid Safe Pass holder
