Tasks

-Represent PennDOT at safety and emissions inspection meetings. -Self-manage a set number of station audits within the Berks and Lancaster County areas. -Respond to consumer complaints and inquiries. -Testify in court hearings when required. -Audit inspection station records for compliance and review paperwork for accuracy and shop cleanliness. -Serve suspensions to stations and technicians as needed. -Conduct station audits to ensure compliance with state and federal safety and emissions inspection regulations. -Handle station appointments and cancellations within the program.

What You Bring

-High school diploma or equivalent. -Strong computer skills and proficiency with office equipment. -Automotive knowledge is helpful but not required—training will be provided. -Previous experience in auditing, compliance, or investigative roles is a plus. -Physical ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds, sit/stand for extended periods, drive for up to 90 minutes at a time, and work in varying shop environments (hot/cold temperatures). -Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively. -Valid, clean Pennsylvania driver’s license. -Ability to obtain and maintain a Safety Inspection Mechanic Certification and Certified Emission Inspector Certification (training provided). -Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact with the public and document violations accurately.
