The Role

Overview

Manage and support global PLM and CAD systems, providing training and strategy.

Tasks

-Provide feedback to management and other internal departments on product usage problem areas -Develop and maintain 5-year strategic roadmap for Global CAD infrastructure -Participate in the creation of and recommend strategies for document management as it relates to Product-focused support documentation, specifications, test results, CAD user outputs, including collection, revision, and archive -Configure and customize PLM tool (PTC Windchill) to meet the specific needs of the organization -Participate in the development, implementation, and enforcement of CAD standards and Policy and Procedures regarding dimensioning, text annotations, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), 3D modeling standards for downstream use and Data Exchange, and other aspects of CAD usage and software administration -Conduct training sessions to educate employees on PLM tools, CAD Software, processes, and best practices -Analyze current CAD application usage and plan for growth or increases in software licensing and network capacity -Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for global CAD systems, including mechanical CAD, Drawing Viewers, and other programs; stay current with industry trends, conduct annual risk assessments, and make strategic recommendations -Work Standards: Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed. -Ensure seamless integration of PLM systems with CAD software -Provide technical support to users of the PLM system and CAD software, troubleshooting issues and ensuring optimal system performance -Oversee global CAD budget, software upgrades, testing, and licensing compliance -Assist in maintaining and supporting the ER system and workflow

What You Bring

-5+ years of experience in CAD administration and/or PLM system configuration desired -Communication: Convey information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message; listen actively to others. -Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment -Proficiency with 3D solid modeling software including but not limited to Creo, Solid works, or Altium with a strong aptitude for learning unfamiliar software packages -Microsoft Professional Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. required -Associates Degree in IT, Electrical Engineering Design, or Mechanical Engineering Design or a related field required. Significant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree -Knowledge of associated software such as - embedded software, Ansys or other simulation packages, tolerance stack-up analysis, CAM, Rendering, etc. -Knowledge in the areas of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Product Data Management (PDM), and Mechanical or Electrical Computer Aided Design (CAD) Management highly desired
