Overview

Full-time custodian cleaning and maintaining a school facility

Key Responsibilities

• log documentation
• restroom cleaning

Tasks

-Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor. -Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms. -Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility. -Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines. -General cleaning furniture, window sills, and walls. -Report any major safety item for repair. -Operate and maintain equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums. -Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures. -Perform light building maintenance duties as needed. -Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas. -May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.

What You Bring

-Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision. -Ability to pay close attention to detail. -Ability to follow basic verbal & written instructions. -0-6 months custodial/ janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines. -Requires the ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies -Must have team aptitude and approach. -Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. -Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification
