The Role

Overview

Remote pharmacist reviewing prescriptions, ensuring accuracy, and counseling patients for a specialty pharmacy.

Tasks

-Communicate with prescribers to confirm dosing and administration details. -Supervise and guide pharmacy staff, providing coaching and performance reviews. -Monitor drug therapies and identify/report adverse events and product complaints. -Review and approve medication orders by interpreting physician orders to ensure accuracy and compliance. -Verify that all clinical, quality, and drug utilization reviews are correct. -Ensure compliance with program guidelines and quality assurance procedures. -Stay updated on pharmacy laws and complete continuing education to maintain licensure. -Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and strategies to minimize adverse events. -Conduct additional outreach and follow-up as required by regulatory agencies. -Collaborate effectively with call center and other program staff. -Handle incoming and outgoing prescription verifications.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of FDA Health Regulations -Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree required, PharmD preferred. -Strong verbal and written communication skills -Proficient with basic computer programs and multitasking capabilities. -Proficiency in managing processes and ensuring legal compliance -Call center experience -Current and valid Pharmacist state license in good standing. -Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist in a retail or specialty pharmacy setting.
