The Role

Overview

Provide technical expertise for highway asset improvement, surveys, and technology solutions.

Tasks

-Undertaking feasibility studies, investigations, and technology research to provide innovative solutions. -Developing early solutions for improvements and/or renewals, including the compiling of relevant documents, evidence and options for value management, taking into account new techniques, materials, buildability and costs. -Identifying, preparing briefs and managing delivery of survey works that support the improvement and/or renewal of assets. -Providing technical support to Project Managers by assisting with materials approvals, vetting of contractors’ compliance, inspection support on site, and reviewing health and safety files. -Reviews of third-party designs for compliance to design and maintenance requirements. -Developing the regions asset led forward programme and initial scheme development.

What You Bring

-Experience of ITS (Intelligent Transport system) -Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application on the highways network -A Chartered or Incorporated Engineer and member of a relevant professional Body with appropriate experience -Degree or HND in related discipline and appropriate experience, or equivalent -Strong understanding of CDM 2015
