Overview

Maintain, repair, and operate boilers to produce high‑temperature water on a US Army base.

Tasks

-Clean, oil, make minor repairs or assist in repair to boiler equipment -Prepares work orders and cost materials estimates -Operate equipment used in the installation, repair, and maintenance on HVAC equipment -Observes and interprets readings on gauges, meters, and charts which register various aspects of boiler operation -PRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment -May assist in training lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniques -Adjusts controls to ensure safe and efficient boiler operation and to meet demands for high-temperature water -Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE -Maintain a log in which various aspects of boiler operation are recorded

What You Bring

-Regular, dependable attendance -Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted -Experience in installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and replacement of control systems -Must be able to calibrate, operate, and interpret readings from a combustion analyzer to ensure efficient operation of boilers -U.S citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations -Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check -Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions -Lochinvar Boiler Training Certificate -High School Diploma, GED -Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking -5+ years of experience in the maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems -Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces -Knowledge of indoor air monitoring equipment and interpret resulting data; standards for design and construction; air conditioning and heating codes; hazards and safety precautions; and refrigerant handling and disposal -Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping -Experience must include inspection, disassembly, assembly, replacement, and repair of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and/or air conditioning systems to include compressors, motors, burners, pumps, filters, ductwork, pipes, valves, refrigerants, and their recovery systems and pressure vessels -Valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID Act or are you willing and able to obtain one
