Tasks
-Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates.* -Monitors the work the associates do and how they perform.* -Coaches/counsels associates in a respectful manner and completes the associate performance evaluations in accordance with established policy.* -Reviews and investigates all incidents reports and recommends appropriate action/follow up to the executive director.* -Performs evaluations on residents to determine level of care and services.* -Takes the initiative in work, seeks out additional information, and offers solutions/suggestions. -Reviews associate applications, checks references, and interviews applicants for the best possible hire.* -Schedules associates based upon budgeted FTE's and prepares assignments to ensure efficiency.* -Participates in monthly ECC and LNS meeting with corporate director of nursing.* -Monitors expenditures weekly to ensure compliance with department budgeted monthly amounts.* -Ensures medication orders are accurate on the MORS.* -Accepts calls from staff during nights and weekends.* -Provides “hand on” care on an as needed basis to meet the needs of the residents.* -Conducts meetings/trainings as required/requested.* -Responsible for managing the health care of all residents including dissemination of information to families and associates.* -Accepts responsibility and accountability for management of the community in the executive director's absence.*
