Tasks
-Determines estimated cost of construction projects using takeoff estimates. -Prepares documents and maintains file management of projectrelated information including correspondence, reports, and pictures. -Inspects installation of construction feature, measures dimensions, and calculates quantities. -Trains and/or mentors less experienced staff in company procedures, standards, and software. -Reviews plans, specifications, requests for information, submittals, construction schedules, shop drawings and pay applications (QA/QC). -Oversees commissioning and ensures asbuilts are completed and the systems operating, maintenance and warranty manuals are collected and distributed to our client the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA). -Inspects and reviews projects during construction, monitoring conformance with plans, specifications, and other codes and regulations. -Assists with office work such as plotting crosssections and computing earthwork quantities. -Inspects installation and placement of asphalt, runs density tests, and calculates quantities and costs. -Tabulates monthly quantities for use in determining contractors' monthly payment estimates. -Effectively communicates project issues with contractor, project team and clients. -Generates reports of conditions found during inspection activities, notifies Construction Management of significant problems and completes documentation necessary to attest to satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities. -Examines construction materials, checking to see if they meet specifications. -Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the team. -Manages deadlines, prioritizes assignments, and prepares final documentation for closeout process. -Monitors the progress of construction activities, ensuring cost, schedule and quality standards are met.

What You Bring
-Basic skills in math, drafting, and science. -Minimum of 5 years of experience. -Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and construction experience -Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation. -Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite. -Knowledgeable in all areas of the National Electrical Code (NEC) including transformers, high voltage (duct banks) and low voltage transmission/distribution, switchgears, bus feeders, circuits, blueprints, wiring diagrams, generators, distribution boards and final circuits/circuit breakers, Meggar testing, switches, and circuit breakers. -Proficient in the inspection and documentation of electrical system installations and systems maintenance and repairs.
