
Service Delivery Intern - Spares & Repairs Team

The Role
Overview
Support repair shipments, SAP logistics, and process improvements for Spares & Repairs.

Tasks
-Log received items into SAP once validated -Assist with transporting items that cannot be shipped from Head Office to the warehouse for skidding -Assist with all shipping functions and transactions within SAP to ensure on-time service to our customers and vendors -Unpack, inspect, and receive equipment being returned to Hitachi Rail for repair -Perform the same support functions for shipments being sent to Hitachi Rail's vendors for third-party repair -Load and unload materials to and from designated storage areas, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles, and stack or pile returned items and sort them according to projects -Provide status reports as required -Assist with keeping customers/vendors informed about the status of shipments leaving Hitachi Rail facilities -Manage and track projects per plan and schedule -Assist internal and external customers with inquiries relative to international shipping, customs requirements, shipment tracing, billing and invoicing questions, and general requests for information -Verify the accuracy of equipment received against information documented in the repair order/RMA -Prepare and/or update project plans for process improvement initiatives or new process/tools implementations -Support Life Cycle Support team with various tasks including, creation of maintenance bulletins, creation of databases, collection of technical information, etc. -Complete assigned project tasks as they relate to process improvement initiatives and projects -Pack deliveries for shipment back to customer

What You Bring
-Ability to lift, push, and slide packages that typically weigh up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis -Excellent communication and inter-personal skills -Strong knowledge of standard computer applications including intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook -The successful candidate should be working towards a Business or Engineering degree or equivalent -Fluent in English both in written and oral communication skills -Excellent computer skills and very strong organization skills -Excellent time management skills -Able to work onsite full-time hours (40 hours) with the start date and the agreed work term -Ability to handle time-sensitive and pressure situations -Candidate required to demonstrate capability of report writing and data extraction, providing answers, and resolution of routine issues/concerns -A very high level of attention to detail -Experience working with ERP (SAP preferably) environment managing procurement, inventory management, sales management -Significant experience with data analysis, report writing and business improvement activities
