Tasks
-Incident Investigation: Assist in the investigation of workplace incidents and near-misses. Collect and analyze relevant data, interview witnesses, and identify conditions and errors in resiliency that contributed to the incident. Prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations to prevent future occurrences. -Walk OCCASIONALLY over the course of the 8 to 12 hour work shift. The distances walked will range from a distance of a few feet to several hundred feet. -Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment. PPE includes steel-toe safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats. -Kneel OCCASIONALLY in the commission of job duties, depending upon the task. -Stand OCCASIONALLY over the course of the 8 to 12 hour work shift. -Safety Policies and Procedures: Assist in the development and revision of safety policies, procedures, and protocols. Ensure safety policies are effectively communicated and consistently implemented across the organization. Regularly review and update safety documentation to reflect changes in regulations or company requirements. -Stoop or crouch OCCASIONALLY while performing the regular job duties. Tasks would include looking in filing cabinets, removing supplies, and restocking paper in the copier. The position will be held continuously for a few seconds to a few minutes, depending upon task. -Carry weights noted above distances ranging from a few feet to several hundred feet. 50 pounds would be carried 50 feet. Lifting devices are available. -Crawl OCCASIONALLY up to 10 feet to plug in equipment, retrieve dropped materials, etc. -Reach forward OCCASIONALLY to FREQUENTLY to perform job duties or to retrieve tools. The employee will OCCASIONALLY to FREQUENTLY be required to reach to full forward extension. -Reach overhead OCCASIONALLY to retrieve books, supplies, etc. -Climb OCCASIONALLY onto steps or ladders. -Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to safety inspections, training, incidents, and other safety-related activities. Generate reports and analyze data to identify trends and areas requiring improvement. -Safety Compliance: Monitor compliance with safety regulations and standards. Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations and ensure the organization's practices align with legal requirements. Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices to proactively enhance safety protocols. -Safety Communication: Drive the prioritization of safety values, at all levels of the organization, by communicating safety-related information effectively. Create safety awareness campaigns, posters, and newsletters. Conduct safety meetings and presentations to inform employees about potential hazards, safety initiatives, and updates. -Training and Education: Provide training to employees on safety and health topics, including new hire orientation, refresher courses, and specialized training as needed. Develop training materials, presentations, and workshops on various safety and health topics. Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulations to ensure training materials are current and effective. -Sit FREQUENTLY to CONTINUOUSLY over the course of the 8 to 12 hour work shift. -Conduct Site Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify potential safety hazards, such as unsafe equipment, machinery, or processes. Document findings and recommend corrective actions to address identified hazards. -Implement Safety Programs: Collaborate with the safety team to develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and initiatives in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. Assist in the development of safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. -Push and pull drawers open OCCASIONALLY to FREQUENTLY to retrieve tools or supplies.

What You Bring
-Familiarity with relevant software and databases for record keeping and data analysis. -High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in occupational health and safety is preferred. -Proficiency or knowledge in using safety equipment, tools and technology. -Strong organizational and time management skills. -Gross finger dexterity skills required operating the mouse utilized in the course of standard job duties. Fine finger dexterity is not required. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver engaging safety training sessions. -Visual ability to read and interpret material to satisfactorily do job. -Hear sufficiently to be aware of safety issues. -Exposure to fumes, odors and dusts OCCASIONALLY. -Exposure to solvents, greases, oils, and coolants OCCASIONALLY. -Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. -Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. -Knowledge and understanding of occupational health and safety regulations, codes and standards. -Lift weights up to 30 pounds OCCASIONALLY from floor to head level, which includes the various prints, books, binders, and papers utilized to perform the usual work duties. -Proven work experience as a safety technician or in a related field. -Lift weights up to 50 pounds RARELY to OCCASIONALLY from floor to chest level, which may include boxes of papers, books, etc. -Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify hazards and evaluate risks. -Exposure to heat, cold, wet and humid conditions OCCASIONALLY.
