Tasks

-Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents such as traffic impact studies, stage 0 analyses, and transportation management plans. -Provide technical inputs and help optimize solutions -Prepare exhibits, designs and complex working drawings using AutoCAD, Microstation, and OpenRoads Designer. -Utilize relevant software programs to perform analyses and modeling such as HCS, Sidra, Synchro, Vistro, VISSIM, and IHSDM. -Perform analyses related to traffic operations and safety. -Select and apply appropriate design criteria to perform traffic engineering design assignments. -Take initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team. -Prepare high quality contract documents (plans, specifications, and estimates) for the construction of traffic and ITS infrastructure.

What You Bring

-Experience with software such as HCS, Sidra, Synchro, Vistro, VISSIM, and IHSDM is a plus. -Microstation experience is required. Experience with InRoads, OpenRoads, and/or GeoPak/3D Modeling is a plus. -Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. -Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite. -Working knowledge of relevant standards such as ITE Trip Gen, MUTCD, HCM, and HSM is a plus. -Ability to effectively discuss project issues, understand the context, identify opportunities and challenges and provide potential solutions. -Engineering intern licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months. -Ability to solve problems using sound engineering judgment, creativity and innovation. -Ability to collaborate and work with others located in other offices via a virtual environment is critical.
