The Role
Overview
On-site HSE Coordinator ensuring safety compliance for construction projects in NWT.

Tasks
-Conduct frequent site inspections, addressing HSE issues and completing documentation -Develop reports, research HSE information, create site-specific safe work procedures, and provide guidance -Incident management- initiate notifications, and ensure incidents/accidents are reported, investigated, and documented -Validate equipment, processes, and worker competency; inspect onsite safety equipment -Review activities of new trades and ensure compliance with HSE requirements -Evaluate changing site conditions with Bird Project Management for unidentified risks -Address non-compliance issues and utilize the right to stop unsafe work if necessary -Collaborate with trade partner HSE representatives and workers to address safety concerns and resolve issues -Conduct orientations for new workers and visitors, and provide training to Bird employees

What You Bring
-Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude -Valid Class 5 Drivers license w/ an abstract in good standing -Previous experience in Health & Safety or construction is a strong/preferred asset -Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently -Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships -Strong written and verbal communication skills
