-Assist with work overflow as needed -Follow all company policies and procedures -Performance of all work within health and safety regulations, company standards, industry standards and applicable regulatory codes -Manage ESA permits and necessary locate requirements -Report and communicate according to company procedures -Ensure all installation/service work is done according to quality standards -Complete paperwork as required – job Planning, tailboards, timesheets, traffic planning -Ensure all work meets ESA and internal requirements -Construction, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the electrical distribution system, including overhead and underground of various voltages -Adhere to all company safety policies; report all near-miss and incidents immediately -Responsible for completing work/service orders within the allotted time frames -Perform live line work on overhead and underground electrical distribution lines
We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of Powerline Technician - Journey Person. The successful candidate will be required to perform weekly standby duty, emergency and planned overtime on a regular basis. -Ability to work in a physically demanding environment that includes heavy lifting, stretching and pulling, climbing, working at heights and extreme weather conditions -Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings -Must be in excellent physical condition to perform the duties. -Excellent knowledge of the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground power lines -Must be able to demonstrate focus and attention to detail. Must be organized -Certification as a Journey person Powerline Technician -Proven interpersonal skills and practical experience effectively dealing with challenging customers and situations using tact and diplomacy -Dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment for the protection of fellow employees and the general public. Must have an excellent safety record and continually demonstrate safe working habits and mechanical aptitude -Understand and practice EUSR Safety Rules, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, ESA requirements and all other applicable legislation and safe work practices, current certificates in First Aid, CPR and WHMIS -Must be literate and able to perform manual mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division -Basic computer knowledge -A valid Ontario’s Driver’s License in good standing with Class “DZ” in good standing
