Overview

Operate metal finishing processes, handling parts, heat treatment, plating, and quality control.

Tasks

-Frequently working around energized equipment with the risk of electrocution/scalding/burns/other etc. -Monitor the basic functions of heat treatment machinery and auxiliary equipment, under guidance from more senior team members. -Follow instructions to control the sequence and order of parts for processing. -Perform all tasks in compliance with established safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). -Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules. -Clean and remove grease from parts using Ransohoff machines and ensure parts are properly prepared for electroplating. -Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards. -Assist with loading and unloading parts into racks, barrels, and baskets for heat treating, cleaning, and electroplating. -Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure production deadlines are met, reporting any potential delays or issues promptly. -Use basic measuring equipment to ensure part dimensions and plating thicknesses are within required tolerances. -Document temperatures and time exposure for parts during heat treatment and electroplating processes. -Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring that all tools and materials are properly stored after use.

What You Bring

-Standing: Continuously required to stand and perform tasks. -Continuously exposed to moderate noise levels, including machinery and forklifts. -Position self/ mode: Frequently required to position self to perform tasks involving but not limited to reaching, twisting, rotating, and pushing/pulling. -Lifting: Frequently required to solo or team lift and/or carry items exercising sound judgment to employ manual handling or machine lifts where required, and risk assessments, if appropriate. -Walking: Frequently required to walk moderate distances across the S&C campus. -Metal Finishing equipment such as sand, vapor and metal sprayers to the job description. -Continuously working indoors in an non air-conditioned/air conditioned manufacturing-based environment. -Frequently exposed to extreme heat (non-weather) conditions/other etc. -Display a willingness to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods in a manufacturing environment. -Bending: Frequently ascending or descending stairs and ladders. -Manual Dexterity: Frequently required to use hand-eye coordination to control both hands and arms for a full range of motion to operate equipment/machinery/power tools/office productivity equipment. -Observation/ Eyesight: Frequently required to observe details at close range including depth perception, peripheral vision and the ability to differentiate between colors -Continuously working with machinery with moving parts/vehicles/forklifts/heavy machinery/sharp objects/other etc. -Continuously exposed to fumes/vapors/dust/gases/odors/mist/toxic chemicals/vibration/grease/oils/lasers/other etc. -Low Posture: Frequently required to perform tasks using a low posture, including but not limited to stooping, bending, crawling, crouching, kneeling, or squatting.
