Tasks
T1TC Technicians specialize in quality utility substation testing and commissioning (medium to high voltage) primarily within the Mid-Atlantic Region. -Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms, Squat/ Bend to check equipment, test and lift. -Provide hands-on leadership in testing & commissioning at major utility sites while overseeing and mentoring other technicians and commissioning engineers to complete projects safely, on-time and within budget. -Ensure Client satisfaction in expectations, standards and finished product are met. -Perform acceptance testing and logic checks of microprocessor protector relays and schemes associated with transmission lines, busses, power transformers, cap banks, feeders, breakers, etc. -Perform hands-on execution of projects including startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of power delivery equipment including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, automatic transfer switches, protective relays, SCADA, metering and other power equipment. -Contribute/lead in project bidding, inspection and troubleshooting with simple to complex electrical projects including apparatus and protection & control/relay equipment. -Ensure that all T1TC testing & commissioning activities are performed and documented per Client/ Utility, OSHA, NFPA, NETA and T1TC standards and requirements. -Promote safe workplace practices, and an overall questioning attitude. -Thoroughly review all drawings/ diagrams prior to project start, performing pre-job walk-throughs and communication to Client if adjustments are required. -Perform testing of medium and high voltage substation apparatus including, but not limited to, instrument transformers, circuit breakers, transformers, and capacitor banks. -Provide feedback and offer suggestions while in the field, by reviewing field files, daily logs, and safety briefs for accuracy. -Maintain project tracking, progress and status reports documentation. -Interface with company Project Leads and other PM’s for active project support in scheduling, change orders, RFIs, RFPs and discrepancy logs. -Support the development of detailed and often complex testing and commissioning plans including, identification of required testing, circuit isolation and restoration, project sequencing, construction scheduling, outage and energization planning, in-service checks, and associated responsibilities. -Read, interpret, troubleshoot, and effectively utilize electrical drawings and schematics during the testing and commissioning process to meet the design intent. -Support energization and in-service checks to validate electrical quantities. -Supervise and support field operations on medium to high voltage substation protection, control, SCADA, and metering projects. -Conduct testing of AC and DC station service systems including, but not limited to, transfer switches, panelboards, battery systems and battery chargers.

What You Bring
-Must complete compliant background checks and drug and alcohol testing both pre-hire and ongoing as required by Customer(s) and/ or T1TC. -Familiarity with industry standards including ANSI/NETA, IEEE, NFPA, NETA, NEC and UL. -5+ years Field Service Engineering/ Testing/ Commissioning on both relays and apparatus. -Proven strong ability to read/ understand schematics and blueprints. -Must have a valid US driver’s license and compliant driving history. -Willing to travel interstate, on a weekly/bi-weekly basis (up to 85%). -Must be willing to commute to and work on Customer sites daily (including harsh weather). -Strong organization skills and attention to detail. -Solid experience with diagnostic software and service report writing. -Power distribution, AC/DC, Voltage Circuit Theory, and practical troubleshooting skills. -Sit, talk, hear, read, write and type. -AS or BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) OR Completion of 3-5-year Electrician Apprentice Program OR U.S. Army Prime Power Production OR U.S. Navy Nuclear Program completion with 3+ years of hands-on implementation on electrical equipment. -Must regularly lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds. -Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule; work overtime to meet critical deadlines and be willing to travel. -NETA testing specifications knowledge and certifications are helpful but not required. -Current US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (GC) required for site access. -High level of proficiency with test sets such as Doble, Megger, Vanguard, Arbiter. -Strong background in electrical power including low voltage through medium voltage.
