Tasks
To Control and coordinate the activities of estimating staff and preparing tender prices and specifications and calculate cost estimates for projects. To audit the quantities surveyed by -Coordinates with tendering department staff to schedule project costs, resources and -Controls and coordinates the activities of the Estimating function for construction projects -quantities as required and prepare tender prices. -assists in forecasting future costs including updating of the estimating database -Builders and then historical data of tendered prices on all projects for evaluation and -communicates cost estimates with concerned departments. -Supervises the work of estimators and provides technical guidance for estimators in -Coordinates with the quantity surveyors to schedule costs related to the project and -Assists Chief Estimator to oversee the responsibilities and duties of all staff in the -and engages with estimators to prepare Pre-Tender Estimates. -starting from quantity surveying to completing the Estimation Sheets. -Conducts feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labor costs for projects. -Develops accurate and clear cost estimates based on project data. -Performs site visits and gathering necessary information such as accessibility, availability -Communicates with external entities such as subcontractors / suppliers to prepare cost -generating cost estimates and interpreting gathered information. -Negotiates and prepares bids for tenders -Performs cost analysis such as preparing and analyzing costing for tenders to assist in -Assists in developing techniques/strategies to expedite the overall process of tendering -estimates by gathering cost related information as needed. -Assists in the training and development of personnel in the Business Development and -Provides estimates for projects, including negotiating schedules of rates with selected

What You Bring
the Junior Estimator/Estimator. -Behavioral Skills: Customer orientation, team work, process excellence, visionary, strategy and planning, leadership, results orientation. -Educational Qualifications: Bachelors of Science in a relevant field of Engineering. -Strong proficiency in Excel, the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously, and familiarity with estimation software would be considered an advantage -Experience: Minimum of 7 years. -Technical Skills: Good knowledge in common contract conditions format (FIDIC, JCT, Government etc.), formal QS certification, negotiating, computer skills and communications skills in English language (read, write and speak).
