Tasks
-The position entails drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include physical and civil layout drawings, as well as schematics and wiring diagrams. -The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions. -The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; being responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues; and seeking guidance from those with more experience. -Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

What You Bring
-1+ year drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment -Experience with Autodesk Raster Design and/or Bentley Descartes -Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems -Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. -Experience with ProjectWise File Management System -Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship. -Reliable, detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks -Experience interpreting substation electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and/or substation physical/civil drawings -Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members -Experience working with scaled drawings -Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel -Associate's/technical degree in an accredited drafting program, or sufficient industry experience
