The Role
Overview
Commission, test, and troubleshoot mechanical systems for data center projects.

Tasks
-Perform analysis of test results using instrumentation and prepare reports. -Commission mechanical, plumbing & fire alarm and suppression equipment and related controls, primarily in data center environments. -Review system designs for compliance with client facility goals. -Report on system performance and make technical recommendations on issues. -Prepare and provide input on commissioning project documentation and schedules. -Assist with submitting and maintaining daily commissioning reports. -Attend factory testing of equipment and document procedures and results. -Prepare plans and procedures for execution of the commissioning process. -Respond to project team and client inquiries in a professional and timely manner. -May be required to lead commissioning meetings or speak on technical topics. -Work with the Project Manager and project teams to coordinate and execute field activities. -Conduct commissioning activities from the design phase through the occupation phase, in accordance with client requirements and industry commissioning process best practices. -Comply with company, client, and project safety requirements. -Draft comprehensive test procedures for a variety of equipment and systems. -Process Water Plants -Fully document all field procedures including results, issues and observations either via company provided templates or online applications. -Train and guide both Associate Project Engineers and Project Engineers on roles & responsibilities. -Conduct functional testing of equipment. -Attend relevant project coordination and schedule meetings as necessary.

What You Bring
-Carry up to 50 lbs. -Variable Frequency Drive -Knowledge & experience with ASHRAE or BCxA commissioning guidelines preferred. -Experience in Mission Critical facility commissioning essential. -Good communication and relationship skills. -Deep understanding and application of test instrumentation. -Ability to walk up to 5 miles per day. -Leak Detection -Ability to educate and guide Project Engineers. -Ability to wear required PPE daily. -Distributed control system experience a plus. -Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work with limited supervision and manage junior engineers on day to day tasks. -Hydronic Pump -VESDA System -Heat Trace -BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering with 5 or more years with mission critical project experience, or relevant and applicable mechanical and/or controls experience. -Minimum of 7 or more years of experience in commissioning with mission critical project experience, or relevant and applicable mechanical and/or controls experience. -Effective written and verbal communication skills. -Good understanding of building management systems (BMS) and/or electrical power monitoring system (EPMS). -Be knowledgeable with Mechanical, Plumbing & FLS building systems & equipment, including, but not limited to: -Pre-Action Fire Suppression System -Professional Engineers (PE) License and/or a commissioning certification a plus but not required. -Travel nationwide 50% - 75% if not assigned locally; may have periods of higher travel expectation. -Organized, detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, problem solver.
