Tasks

-Occasionally manage projects. -Performs engineering design and/or reviews the design and drafting work of junior engineers, designers or drafters. -Plan and review the production of engineering investigations, planning work, drawings and specifications. -Lead and mentor junior engineers in the development of design concepts. -Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for new projects, weighing alternatives and selecting the most cost-effective solution. -Coordinates work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff. -Provide quality control and maintain quality standards, check work performed by others. -Analyze technical problems, assess the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devise new approaches and alternative solutions. -Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope. -Prepares cost and man-hour estimates, job budgets and schedules.

What You Bring

-Good technical writing, computer and communications skills. May be eligible to receive project management training. -P.E. license is required. -Technical proficiency with the following software: ICPRv4, ArcGIS, Open Roads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, BMP Trains, ProjectWise Explorer, Microsoft Project, and more. -Understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic design principles and applications in Florida. -B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. This level may be achieved by Engineers with seven years' experience since B.S.; six years’ experience since M.S. Incumbents typically have six to ten years' experience since Bachelor's degree.
