Overview

Maintain and troubleshoot depot electro‑mechanical equipment for Honolulu rail

Tasks

-Operate OTE to moves Train in and out of the shop and for wheel truning activities in accordance with training and qualifications -Completes assigned operational, equipment failure, safety and other reports as required. -Perform troubleshooting, identification and resolution of system and subsystem to support field technicians in the diagnosis and correction of faults. -Comply with all maintenance procedures and instructions including; safety, quality, and environmental procedures -Ensure conformance to technical specifications and compliance with operational specifications and tolerances (e.g. verifying dimensions and clearances of parts,…) -Use electronic test equipment, power tools and other specialized hand tools as required. -Perform failure analysis and technical investigation -Perform duties as instructed/directed by Rolling Stock and Depot Lead and/or Manager and the Rolling Stock Engineer -Performs corrective, preventive and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication and proper maintenance of electro-mechanical Maintenance Storage Facilities Equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations and maintenance manuals. -Support the on-site spare parts management and the repair cycle from/to the site activities -Produce work blocks and Job hazard analysis pertained to planned work -Ensure the effective implementation of first-line response maintenance safety standards -Early identification of failure trends that may impact fleet availability -Produce accurate maintenance records of track, third rail and related infrastructure, equipment performance, work accomplished, and other information using a computerized maintenance management system -Ensure the execution and collection of all the maintenance records and support the monitoring of the day-to-day maintenance performance -Support the on-site spare parts management and the repair cycle from/to the site -Complies with Safety Rules, Operating Rule Book and first-aid procedures. -Maintain electro-mechanical equipment at the Maintenance Storage Facilities Equipment including electronically driven wheel lathes, train wash, wheel press, overhead gantry cranes; train lifting equipment; fork lifts; and dock levelers, etc. -Operate wheel truning machine, wheel press, trains lifts, cranes and other deport equipment in accordance with training and qualifications -Ensure that the corrective and preventative maintenance tasks are executed in compliance with the company safety policy and local regulations -Participates in training programs as required. -Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty -Analyzes log files to troubleshoot complex to provide required corrective action and improvement -Ensure that sufficient materials, tools, and equipment are on hand calibrated and in good condition for maintenance -Observes electromechanical components and devices in operation to detect potential failures and locate causes of malfunction. -Perform additional cross functional job duties on unrelated track and third rail systems included but not limited to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic controlled systems in accordance with training and qualifications -Conduct job and safety briefing as required

What You Bring

-Experience of electronic and/or electromechanical vehicle equipment maintenance. -Knowledge of or the ability to attain knowledge of the safety rules regarding lock-out tag-out protection. -Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment. -Ability to use and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers’ maintenance instructions, Operating Book of Rules, etc. and to comprehend the operations and to comprehend the operations and maintenance of MSF Equipment Systems. -High School or equivalent -1-2 years’ experience -The role requires to work close proximity to electrical power and frequently request Red Tag, LOTOs and hot stick application -The role requires flexibility and efficiency which require shift rotation, weekends and holidays work typical of major infrastructure projects, and operating transit systems -Strong communication and interpersonal skills
