Tasks

-Assistance in the creation, drafting, and presentation of executive material on a regular and ad-hoc basis. -Decisions made with thorough knowledge of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. -Partner cross-functionally with Data/BI teams to ensure accuracy of internal data tools used for reporting. -Support the Asset Management team with property and portfolio level reporting and forecasting. -Gather data to analyze, identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and interpret the findings. -Collaborate to create visualizations reflecting various KPIs and financial performance. -Develop and maintain models using Excel and other business intelligence tools to guide capital allocation decisions.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. -Regular travel to various locations for meetings, projects, client visits, or on-site work. -Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint). Familiarity with or ability to learn business intelligence programs preferred. -Strong financial literacy with the ability to interpret and analyze general business trends. -Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in economics, real estate, finance, philosophy, and/or data analytics required. -The position includes in-person work requirements consistent with the hybrid policy located at Essex's corporate offices in Woodland Hills, Irvine, Bellevue or San Mateo. The hybrid policy is subject to change at Essex’s sole discretion. -Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Minimal physical effort in the day-to-day tasks. -Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills. -1-2+ years of experience in investment management, real estate, data analytics/business intelligence, or financial planning & analysis. -Work is primarily conducted in an office setting. Requires sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. -Operates in a fast-paced work setting. Requires the ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities. May involve tight deadlines and high-energy work situations.
