vendor liaison
  • Partner with partners across the business to ensure EBOMs are clean, standardized, timeline, and support upstream and downstream activities and processes.
  • Collaborate in planning, scheduling, and organization of detailed phases of engineering work.
  • Interprets internal business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, tools, or services.
  • Establish filing guidelines for drawings to maintain up-to-date drawings.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Ensure SSCs are properly designed and integrated into the design of the overall system to meet their component level functions and requirements.
  • Identify areas to introduce automation and integrations with other areas of the digital ecosystem.
  • Assist in the definition and development of system/component geometric interfaces.
  • Establish CAD Support Roadmap, SLAs and on-call rotation.
  • Offers new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations.
  • Work closely with the responsible engineers to develop mechanical/physical concepts, designs, and processes to create structures, systems, and components (SSCs) related to the project to which they are assigned.
  • Create relevant 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings of various equipment, structures, systems and/or components (e.g., Mechanical Components and Assemblies, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, etc.).
  • Serve as an information source on planning and design of equipment installations: equipment and plant engineering.
  • Maintain system and model compatibility in X-energy’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
  • May manage CAD Designer staff by ensuring they are meeting expectations and promoting their professional development.
  • Create and check manufacturing technical data packs and 2D detail component drawings to ensure fabricated components are produced in accordance with the design specifications.
  • Establish training programs and maintain a knowledge base.
  • Author and maintain procedures that meet AS9100 standards and NQA-1/10 CFR 50 Appendix B.
  • Engage vendors in the design and manufacturing of defined systems and their related components. Show initiative in suggesting design changes and improvements to the design of components, factoring in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Identify and follow best CAD modeling and drafting practices, communicating them with other team members to ensure the standardization of practices.
  • Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (like drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters, and performance guarantees) for future reference.
  • Influences and supports the development of strategy, methodology, and technical tools for CAD modeling and drafting.
  • Provide L2/L3 support for CAD/PLM: performance, corrupt datasets, broken links, JT/STEP/IGES, supplier exchanges, and similar.
  • Assess models for manufacturability as well as assembly and integration considerations.
  • Perform a variety of design/drafting activities for the engineering group including preparing and updating manufacturing drawings.
  • Provide support for the management of the utilization of CAD Designer resources across multiple projects and ensure qualified designers are performing assigned work.
  • Define and enforce modeling/drafting standards, including feature strategy, layer strategy, assemblies, wave linking methods, PMI, drawing release, and run audits to confirm proper usage thereof.

Culture + Values

50% Growth
Global Energy Growth
Global energy demand is expected to rise by 50% over the next 30 years, driven by population growth and economic development.
  • We’re empowering Solar, wind and hydro are parts of the solution. Nuclear is the only pure base‑load, load‑following, highly scalable, locatable anywhere, stand‑alone or complementary solution. It's an integral piece of the puzzle.
  • Zero Emissions: We believe in leaving a cleaner planet for our children and grandchildren, while continuing to provide sufficient and affordable power to sustain growing populations around the world.
  • Clean Water: X‑energy’s core competencies in HTGR design and high‑temperature fuel design/manufacture makes a unique and compelling combination to apply our skills to Nuclear Thermal Propulsion.
  • Space & Nuclear: The world is facing a pair of challenges … global energy demand is expected to rise by 50 % over the next 30 years. At the same time, we must significantly lower carbon emissions.
  • Our technology relies on physics, not mechanical systems.
