Tasks

-Maintaining an environment of open dialog and free of retaliation. -Utilize approved AI tools to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of litigation and eDiscovery tasks. -Collaborate and coordinate with broader legal team of attorneys, paralegals, claims investigators, and internal subject matter experts. -Tender claims to insurance carriers and manage the coordination of coverage and defense under applicable insurance policies. -Identify and owns lessons learned from litigation to improve safety learnings within the company. -Collaborate and assist other attorneys in the Litigation team and Law Department on complex legal issues and litigation matters. -Building strong-identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals. -Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters and activities including preparing or reviewing motions, briefs, and pleadings, deposition prep, court appearances, argument, mediation, and trial. -Sponsoring and sustaining a high integrity speak-up corporate culture which prioritizes ethics, safety and compliance. -Select, supervise, and partner with outside counsel on select matters or issues. -Anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. -Provide advice and counsel to business units on legal and litigation risks. -Interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions. -Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions. -Conduct and coordinate fact investigations, analyze legal issues, and develop litigation and resolution strategies for a range of litigation matters and claims. -Develop and manage legal matter budgets and costs for outside counsel, consultants, experts, and eDiscovery. -Effectively building formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organization. -Communicate with PG&E’s management and leadership concerning key legal issues and the strategy and status of litigation, disputes, and recommended resolution. -Building on necessary level of industry, company and subject-matter expertise, including laws and regulations. -Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals. -Manage eDiscovery processes, including preservation, legal hold, and the use of eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity.

What You Bring

-Law Bar Admission, U.S. -Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience -U.S. state bar active member in good standing -Competency in building strong client relationships and delivering customer centric solutions. -Desire and aptitude to work in a collaborative environment on a team of high-performing legal professionals -Ability to effectively, efficiently, and calmly manage multiple time-sensitive projects -Litigation experience at the trial level and/or appellate level in state and/or federal courts -Admission to the California Bar -Using various types of communications that convey a clear understanding of the needs of different audiences. -Experience as Attorney, 3 years -Creative problem-solving skills -Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to provide sound, clear legal advice to management and other leaders -Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including competency in developing and delivering communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences -Ability to manage support staff such as paralegals and claims investigators -Proficiency with eDiscovery issues, tools, and platforms -Maneuvering comfortably through internal policy, process, and people-related dynamics. -6 years of experience, which may include other industry experience relevant to the position -Experience selecting and overseeing outside counsel, consultants, and/or experts -Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school -Experience in civil litigation in a variety of fields which could include premises liability, motor vehicle cases, real property disputes, asbestos, construction disputes and delay claims, or breach of contract. -Competency in building strong-identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals -Proficient with technology in the legal context and experience with Microsoft Office Products
