Lead sustainability strategy and operations for a major client’s real estate portfolio.

Tasks

-Develop and enhance systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility/sustainability management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes -Develop, drive, and continuously improve client facing rhythm of the business activities including monthly and quarterly business reviews and annual operational planning -Provide SME input and own program components (e.g., content development, maintenance) related to SME area -Contribute to the client corporate sustainability strategy and drive the delivery of key objectives -Effectively network cross-functionally to collaborate with other JLL service lines on the account (technology, finance, projects, IFM, consultants, and procurement) to elevate the sustainability mission and objectives, and drive implementation where most organic within the business -With cross-functional view, effectively manage changes in partnership with stakeholders, which have the potential to impact sustainability objectives -Manage an effective sustainable operations team capable of delivering according to scope of work and schedule -Own annual development and execution of a multi-faceted Strategic Energy and Sustainability Plan targeting portfolio-wide reduction of emissions, energy consumption and water use aligned with client goals and requirements -Establish strong working relationships with internal and external partners to effectively manage and deliver on energy and sustainability targets -Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all JLL sustainability activities across the client real estate portfolio -Establish and maintain regulatory oversight framework to proactively identify legislative changes and compliance requirements as they relate to energy and sustainability; ensure audit preparedness, document compliance, and execute corrective actions as needed to achieve complete regulatory alignment -Provide strategic direction and guidance on ways to enhance and expand service delivery to the client, including leveraging supply chain partners, internal collaborations, and the broader JLL Sustainability Platform -Provide technical expertise, strategic leadership, and support for all various client facilities on sustainability issues -Ensure success stories are tracked and communicated to ensure a high level of awareness and engagement is achieved with regards to the overall sustainability program and client’s success

-Be future ready – We are curious, agile and resourceful to stay relevant and future-ready -An authentic leader, stimulates action with a balanced leadership style of control and influence -University Degree (Science, engineering, math, or related fields) -Experience working with corporate clients, commercial property, property managers and an understanding of the landlord and tenant relationship is desirable -Demonstrate innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the client, and ensure they are rolled out effectively -Proven project management experience and excellent communication skills -A strong track record integrating sustainability into organizations’ operations -Attention to detail and accuracy in written and numeric work -Demonstrated people management experience -Excellent ability to build relationships with clients and their internal teams -Experience working in a collaborative way with clients and other stakeholders to develop and implement ambitious and robust sustainability programs -Ability to obtain buy-in and engagement from employees at all levels -Simplify – We move fast by reducing complexity and setting clear direction -Demonstrated experience in influencing cross-functional teams -Demonstrated experience with change management across multi-faceted situations and cross-functional teams; change management certification is desirable -An excellent understanding of the key sustainability issues for corporate occupiers of real estate including, but not limited to; decarbonization, embodied carbon, circularity, resource preservation, biodiversity, climate risk, health & wellbeing, and social value creation
