Tasks
-Manage external consultants as needed in conjunction with project permitting activities. -Maintain development schedule and budget to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions. -Foster support from state, county, and local governments, community groups, and project abutters. -Develop sales presentations, proposals, and other materials as needed to support project development efforts. -Negotiate complex contracts with private, commercial, and municipal counterparties. -Manage long-term relationships with property owners, energy users, and other project stakeholders. -Support internal finance, engineering, and construction teams to facilitate successful project financing and construction. -Originate and develop distributed solar and energy storage projects, simultaneously managing site origination, permitting, interconnection, tax negotiation, revenue contracting, title review, and other development activities. -Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and community members to facilitate project permitting and other initiatives.

What You Bring
Nexamp is seeking a Solar Project Developer to generate a development pipeline and lead the development of a range of distributed solar and energy storage projects within the Mid-Atlantic region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project/land development, with 5+ years of solar and energy storage or comparable industry experience. You will be hybrid out of our Washington, DC office and will report to the Vice President, Business Development. -Proven experience bringing projects from site origination through the various stages of project development to shovel-ready status. -Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry. -Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality. -Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions. -Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions. -5+ years of solar and storage or comparable industry experience in a business development role, with a successful track record in project/land development and stakeholder management. -Up to 60% travel is required; some evening and weekend work required. -Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. -Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $120,000 - $130,000. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans). Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Company’s stock option plan. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, skills and qualifications, internal equity, performance, and geographic location.
